Quick Eval in Brightspace offers evaluators a single location to view all learner submissions awaiting evaluation. Submissions made to Assignments, Quizzes, and Discussions are displayed in a sortable list and can be selected to go directly to the assessment page. The training video below provides a full overview of the Quick Eval tool.
Grade Coding Assignment Submissions
Coding assignments can be reviewed and graded all within Brightspace’s Quick Eval tool. Note: For code submissions that need to be tested, the assignment should be downloaded and reviewed within an IDE.
- Click on the Assignment in the Quick Eval widget.
- Use the Overall Feedback field to provide general feedback.
- Additionally, coding samples can be added to the feedback field. This is useful when you want to provide feedback specifically on lines of code. To do this, click the + icon and select Input Code from the dropdown menu.
- Use the programming language dropdown menu to select the correct language.
- Copy and paste lines of code from the student’s submission. Note: You will not be able to annotate directly on a student’s code.
- Make any changes or comments. Afterward, click the check icon.
- When finished, click Publish.
