Brightspace allows instructors to edit quiz questions after some or all students have already completed a quiz. There are two steps to modifying quiz questions after an attempt: 1) re-grading the quiz question for submitted attempts, and 2) updating the question with the correct answer choice for future attempts.
Re-grading Quiz Questions
- On the course homepage, click Activities in the nav bar, then click Quizzes.
- Find the quiz in which you want to edit the questions or its answer choices, click the dropdown arrow next to it, and select Grade from the menu.
- Click on the Questions tab.
- Select Update All Attempts.
- Click on the question that needs to be regraded.
- From here, you can determine if you want to give all students credit or if you would like to accept multiple answers. Note: You can only accept multiple answers for questions with multiple options (e.g. multiple choice, true or false, etc.). Written response questions can only be updated to give all students credit. You cannot include negative numbers as a grade.
- Click Save.
Correcting Quiz Questions for Future Attempts
- On the course homepage, click Activities in the nav bar, then click Quizzes.
- Click the dropdown arrow next to the quiz that needs to be updated and select Edit from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the question that needs to be updated.
- Correct the response. Note: Edits will only impact future quiz attempts.
- Click Save.
- Click Save and Close.
