Panorama is a third-party accessibility tool that allows students to access learning materials in alternative file formats to meet their individual needs. Panorama also helps faculty review their own course materials for accessibility by scanning files, identifying issues in course accessibility reports, and providing actionable solutions.

Panorama Tools for Correcting Files

The Accessibility Report offers multiple ways in which to self-resolve accessibility issues that have been identified under the Review Issues list. To improve access to course content for all students, instructors are encouraged to correct each of the listed issues.

Notes:

  • Panorama tools do not provide comprehensive ADA compliant document remediation. For assistance with ADA compliant document remediation efforts visit the Office of Institutional Accessibility and ADA Compliance’s Training website for Audit and Remediation Services or a consultation. If you would like to schedule a workshop on accessibility for your department please visit the Center for Excellence in Teaching.
  • These methods of fixing a file, in essence, create a second version of the original file that only exists in the Panorama plugin. Instructors and students will be able to access the corrected file by clicking on the accessibility score icon next to the file name. However, if instructors or students access the file directly from the Brightspace interface, they will see the old, unedited version. To prevent this, instructors are encouraged to download the corrected file and reupload it to Brightspace. Guidance for doing so can be found in the instructions for each method below.
