Instructors can upload files to Brightspace directly from their USC Microsoft OneDrive account. Please note, when you upload a file, it is considered final. You will need to re-submit an updated version, as Brightspace does not carry over edits from OneDrive directly into the file.
Upload OneDrive File to Course Content Via Existing Activities
- Click on Content on the Navbar.
- Select the course module in which you would like to add content.
- Click on the Existing Activities dropdown and select Microsoft OneDrive from the list.
- Click Sign In and use USC credentials to connect OneDrive with Brightspace.
- Find and select the file you’d like to add the course module.
- Click Select.
- A popup will appear to confirm that the selected files were uploaded. The popup should close automatically after a few seconds.
Upload OneDrive File to Course Content Via Create – Embed
- Click on Content on the Navbar.
- Select the course module in which you would like to add content.
- Click on the Upload / Create dropdown and select Create a File from the list.
- Click on the Insert Stuff icon in the course content editor.
- Select Microsoft OneDrive from the Insert Stuff list.
- Click Sign In and use USC credentials to connect OneDrive with Brightspace.
- Find and select the file that needs to be embedded into the course content.
- Click Embed.
- Click Insert on the popup.
- Note: The embedded file window appears small by default. Users with HTML knowledge can expand the window by adjusting the source code.
- Finish adding any other course content and then click Save and Close at the bottom of the screen.
Upload OneDrive File to Course Content Via Create – Link
- Click on Content on the Navbar.
- Select the course module in which you would like to add content.
- Click on the Upload / Create dropdown and select Create a File from the list.
- Click on the Insert Stuff icon in the course content editor.
- Select Microsoft OneDrive from the Insert Stuff list.
- Click Sign In and use USC credentials to connect OneDrive with Brightspace.
- Find and select the file that needs to be linked in the course content.
- Click Link.
- Click Insert on the popup.
- Finish adding any other course content and then click Save and Close at the bottom of the screen.
Upload OneDrive File to Course Content Via Quick Link
- Click on Content on the Navbar.
- Select the course module in which you would like to add content.
- Click on the Upload / Create dropdown and select Create a File from the list.
- Click on the Quick Link icon in the course content editor.
- Select Microsoft OneDrive from the Quick Link list.
- Click Sign In and use USC credentials to connect OneDrive with Brightspace.
- Find and select the file that needs to be linked in the course content.
- Click Select on the popup.
- Finish adding any other course content and then click Save and Close at the bottom of the screen.
Upload OneDrive File to an Assignment
- Hover over Activities on the Navbar and select Assignments from the dropdown menu.
- Click New Assignment.
- Click the Attach from OneDrive icon to add a OneDrive file.
- Click Sign In and use USC credentials to connect OneDrive with Brightspace.
- Find and select the file that needs to be attached to the assignment.
- Click Select.
- A popup will appear to confirm that the selected files were uploaded. The popup should close automatically after a few seconds.
