View Quiz Statistics

Once your students have completed a quiz, it can be useful to understand statistics about their performance. You can view and export quiz statistics and reports to a CSV file and/or an Excel file for data analysis. This guide will show you how to see the student average and detailed information about each quiz question. You can also view Attempt

Instructions

  1. From your course, navigate to Quizzes.
  1. Under Current quizzes, identify the quiz in which you would like to view the statistics. Select the drop-down next to the quiz name and select Statistics.
  1. This page will show the class average. Note the three tabs at the top: User Stats, Question Stats, Question Details.
  1. Select User Stats for info that pertains to a specific student.
  1. Select Question Stats to understand performance by question.
  1. Select Question Details for a deeper look at each question.
  1. Click Export to CSV or Export to Excel if you want to save the quiz’s statistics to your computer.
View Quiz Attempt Logs
  1. From your course, navigate to Quizzes.
  1. Under Current quizzes, identify the quiz in which you would like to view the attempt logs. Select the drop-down next to the quiz name and select Attempt logs.
  1. From the Overview tab you can view quiz attempts based on Quiz Entry time, Quiz Completion time, Quiz Attempt Deleted, and Quiz Attempt Restored.
  1. From the Detailed tab you can view the following quiz attempt events:
    1. Quiz Entry and re-entry times: The timestamp for each time a learner accesses a quiz.
    2. Response Save time: The timestamp for each time a learner answers a question.
    3. Page Movement time: The timestamp for each time a learner moves advances to a new quiz page.
    4. Quiz confirmation screen / completion time: The timestamp for when a learner completes a quiz.
  1. From the Overview tab filter your view of the attempts by the following filters:
    1. Quiz Entry: View quiz attempts that have been started by learners.
    2. Quiz Completion: View quiz attempts that have been completed.
    3. Quiz Attempt Deleted: View quiz attempts that have been deleted.
    4. Quiz Attempt Restored: View previously deleted quiz attempts that have been restored.
    5. Note: All selected filters display their associated results. To deselect a filter, click the filter label again.
  1. Click the Detailed tab to view all Attempt events for the quiz. Each Attempt has the name of the user who performed the Event. For each Attempt, the Event is described, Modified by notes who performed the event, and Date states when the Event took place.
Restore Deleted Quiz Attempts in the Attempt Logs

You can restore deleted quiz attempts for learners in the quiz’s Attempt Logs Overview tab.

Note: A deleted quiz attempt can only be restored if the student does not have another quiz attempt in progress. The Restore button only appears for the latest deleted quiz attempt.

  1. From the Overview tab, click Quiz Attempt Deleted.
  1. Click Restore for the quiz attempt you want to restore.
